Ich hatte mir die Scheibe ja auch zugelegt und ich muss sagen, sie hat was. Läuft zwar bei mir ned grad auf Heavy Rotation, aber schon immer mal wieder und dann auch komplett.

Habe erst kürzlich gesehen, dass die Band mit "Apnoe" ne neue Scheibe veröffentlicht hat. Hab nun noch mal die "Angst" laufen lassen, die ich immer noch sehr cool finde. Ich glaub ich brauch die Neue, auch wenn die wohl etwas anders sein soll und sehr zwiegespalten aufgenommen wird. Könnte was für mich sein das Teil....denke und hoffe ich mal.

Gibt es die hier im Forum....oder generell überhaupt?

Mich hat der Vorgänger mehr überzeugt, vielleicht aber auch, weil da der Überraschungseffekt mitgespielt hat. "Apnoe" hat mit Black Metal im Grunde nix mehr am Hut und der deutschsprachige Bonussong ist schon ziemlich kitschig. Aber insgesamt schon noch eine gute Band.

Bin mir sehr unschlüssig über das neue Album. Habe ein paar Mal reingehört - von richtiger Beschäftigung mit der Musik kann also keine Rede sein - aber im Gegensatz zu beispielsweise dem Vorgänger "Angst" hat mich dieser, man ist fast geneigt zu sagen, Genrewechsel noch nicht so wirklich gepackt.

Auch von dieser interessanten Band ist schon wieder ein neues Album auf dem Markt. Dabei habe ich den Vorgänger "Apnoe" immer noch nicht.
Aber die "Angst" lief vor kurzem noch mal...und hat mich immens beeindruckt. Sehr sehr stark.
Wie unterscheiden sich denn so "Apnoe" und "Rooms"?

*** FAREWELL IN 2017 & ONE MORE ALBUM 2017/18***

Okay people, some sad news for you: We have mutually decided to put TODTGELICHTER on ice indefinitely. We will play some selected shows in 2017 (the last ones in March/April), after that we will effectively function as a studio band for one more album coming soon (promise!) and then –

Good Night.

Reasons? Legion. The effort to create something new and exciting with which we can surprise ourselves feels bigger and bigger, and we keep asking ourselves more often why we put up with it. Add to that the hardships of the whole business, the decline of physical sales, the fading will to tolerate let-downs and disappointments you inevitably get when people that are supposed to work with you do not burn for the band with the same fire as you do, the fact that any band our size will know this hobby is a money-burning machine (Did we really get filthy rich with the supposedly moneygrabbing move “Apnoe”? Not so. Yes, people actually did accuse us of that intention). And the not-so-glamorous reason that everyday life kicks in more and more, that is work, friends, family (Pro-tip: A married couple with kids in the band is not going to help your rock star career in the long-term, at least not in 95% of all cases).

Most probably all members will stay active in one way or the other, if so, we’ll announce it when the time comes. And who is to say we won’t get together once more in a few years, we leave the back door open – just don’t count on it.

We had a great time and will continue to do so for a short while longer. We will announce the last concerts you will be able to catch us on in 2017 during the next days, so keep a sharp eye on our page! The first one will be at the Frostfeuernächte Festival, February 11th 2017, near Berlin. More spotlight on that tomorrow.
