Der Vorabsong heißt "El Gringo", nachdem der schlechteste MAIDEN-Vorabsong überhaupt "El Dorado" heißt?

Schade.

Ob er ähnlich schwach ist wie "El Dorado" ist wohl Geschmackssache, für mich sicher nicht, aber es steht fest, dass er ganz anders klingt.

Jetzt mal ganz im Ernst: Kompositorisch bekomme selbst ich so eine Nummer hin, mir fehlt lediglich Eric Adams als Sänger. Der macht die ganze Nummer zu einer hörbaren, aber dennoch verdammt plätschernden Angelegenheit.

Ich hab ja meine +/- Punkte schon aufgeschrieben. Sicher ist das kein toller Song. Trotzdem höre ich ihn grad ziemlich gerne an.

Auf der Manowar Homepage ist auch ein Link w man sich 43 Sekunden von dem Song "Expendable" anhören kann. Klingt wie auch die Minute die ich von "El Gringo" gehört hab so ziemlich nach dem letzten Stoff den die Band so produziert hat. Nunja. Mal sehn. Bin mal gespannt, ob die Songs der "Thunder In The Sky EP" auch auf dem Album sein werden. Die habe ich ja unfassbarerweise immer noch nicht. Das zeigt wohl wie sehr die Band bei mir an Boden verloren hat. Wobei daran sicher auch der Progressive Metal/Rock mit dran Schuld ist.

Ich find ja zum Beispiel "Warriors of the World" gar nicht so schlecht wie es gemacht wird und auch auf "God of War" sind noch zwei oder drei Songs drauf, die ich mir gut anhören kann aber diese neue Nummer ist gar nix mehr. Ein Song wie WotW war ja noch richtig catchy aber hier hat man den Song vergessen, sobald er aus ist.

MANOWAR’s new studio album, The Lord Of Steel, will first be released worldwide on June 16, 2012 exclusively on iTunes and on the band’s own online store, The Kingdom Of Steel (www.thekingdomofsteel.com).

On the same date, Metal Hammer UK will release a special ‘Steel Edition’ of Metal Hammer #233, including the CD and a digital copy of the album.

The Lord Of Steel is blazing with pure power, untamed energy, and a sound as raw and wild as a force of nature. Track titles like Annihilation and Hail, Kill And Die! set the tone for a record that is packed with surprises.

In contrast to the 2007 release Gods Of War, this new album is not a concept album, yet each song tells a different story, retaining the MANOWAR vision of righteousness, honor and everything MANOWAR fans have come to know and love.

MANOWAR fans should expect to have “their heads completely blown off” said MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio in a recent interview, and explained that “…this album is all about brutality and raw power!”

The album will be mixed and mastered at the legendary Wisseloord Studios by long-time collaborators mixing engineer Ronald Prent and two-time Grammy award-winning mastering engineer Darcy Proper.

Known for their adventurous spirit and for never releasing the same style of album twice in a row, MANOWAR have this time tapped into the world of action heroes and their stories, writing their first song specifically for a Hollywood movie, EL GRINGO and another one, Expendable, inspired by Sylvester Stallone’s action movie franchise ‘The Expendables’.

The band recently announced that El Gringo will be the theme song of the action western EL GRINGO, featuring Scott Adkins (‘Expendables 2’, ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’) and Christian Slater and produced by After Dark Films (‘An American Haunting’) and Joel Silver’s (‘Matrix’, ‘Lethal Weapon’) Dark Castle Home Entertainment.

“We were talking about a concept album but then got inspired to go in a different direction. Ich frag mich die ganze Zeit nur eins: wenn solche musikalischen Schnarchattacken ne 8 rechtfertigen würden, lieber Rüdiger, und selbst der Herr Adams bei weitem nicht mehr Übergottesgeil sondern nur noch ziemlich gut singt - warum gebe ich nicht 90% der Alben, die ich höre eine 10? Sicher, nach den PM'schem Notenverteilungsmuster könnte man dafür argumentieren, aber musikalisch? Ich habe schon Schülerbands mehr Spannung, Energie und Kraft aufbringen hören. Und dabei höre ich nichtmal Manowar...
