Re: Steel Tormentor - Metal aus IrlandHello guys James from Steel Tormentor here...
First off I want to say thank you to Rüdiger for showing his support for the band throughout the years & letting me post a little update here. The band has been on hiatus for the last few years due to a lot of stuff from the usual financial & line up issues but also personal family stuff. It has taken this whole lockdown thing for me to fall back in love with making music. Over the past few months I have been working on a lot of ideas & with the advances is modern recording equipment & software it has never been easier. Right now I am messing around with programmed drums & recording covers of some traditional Irish songs just for fun & to try out different mix ideas. I hope once all this lockdown stuff is over I can bring a full band into the studio to record new Steel Tormentor material. There is also plans to re-record the debut Unleashed album & give it a vinyl release but that's for another time. Right now I just want to let you know the band is active once again & I will be posting lots of demos to the bands soundcloud page. I also want to thank the German fans for buying the Return of a King album in your hundreds! I'm amazed it is still selling to this day & I cannot thank you enough it means so much. The support you German metalheads gave us was at times overwhelming..... It's time to repay you all by releasing some killer new Steel Tormentor music. You can keep up to date with all the latest news at http://www.steeltormentor.com you'll find links to our social media pages there. Check out the latest lockdown demo playlist here ore tracks coming soon >>>>> https://soundcloud.com/steeltormentor/sets/cover-tunes Keep safe guys. James ST.
Re: Steel Tormentor - Metal aus IrlandThank you, James, for giving us a first hand update on STEEL TORMENTOR!
We wish you the best of luck with the new found lust for music, and with getting the band up and running again. Gotta say that I really love those cover versions of the Irish classic songs. Loved that approach when Cruachan have done it in a more folkish and black metal leaning way, also loved it when Jag Panzer was doing "Foggy Dew" and we also love to jam Irish Folk tunes together with my friends and with acoustic guitars. Hope that's no cultural appropriation. So for everyone reading along: Check out the cover tunes! They're a lot of fun. It's a pleasure to have you here and you're always welcome to drop in to share some news on the Steel Tormentor! ![]() alias Hugin der Rabe.
